Rook Matthews Sayer has recently launched ‘The Community Love’ project at our Whitley Bay branch. For every sale that RMS Whitley Bay branch complete, they donate £50.00 to the scheme. As the sales rack up, so too does the charity pot. The money raised is then used to help local community projects for care homes, schools, charitable organisations, community groups and workshops. Anywhere and anyone where we can help to make a difference in Whitley Bay with a small monetary donation. The project is the brain child of Alison Isbister, our Whitley Bay Branch Manager who wanted to create a way to give back to the community to improve lives in Whitley Bay. The money is fully funded from the completion of sales by the Whitley Bay branch.
We sat down with Alison, Branch Manager at RMS Whitley Bay to get the latest updates on Community Love Scheme…
Q What made you want to start the scheme in the first place?
- “Part of my aim has always been to integrate ourselves within the community that we are working in. I am a strong believer in giving whatever we can back to the community that trusts us with their business and their home. During the pandemic and especially now times are tough for a lot of people, whether that’s emotionally or financially. I want RMS to be seen as the agent that cares about their local community and my thought is to thank people in return for their trust and investment in us. I want us to get involved in any projects or ways in which we can improve things for people in whatever small way we can.
Â
Q When did the project start?
We came up with the concept in April but we got it off the ground in July. We have since donated all of our completions from June that are sold subject to contract to the Community fund. We are yet to pay out our first donations.
Q How much has been raised so far?
So far we have £550 in our pot with a further £1450 to come in before December hopefully, this is being added to every day with every home that we sell.
Q Do you have potential beneficiary’s in mind?
We don’t have a specific beneficiary in mind, we’d love to help multiple causes no matter how small.. local schools, community groups, charities, refuges, hospices.
Maybe we’ll go to public vote.. watch this space!
We’d like to thank Alison and RMS Whitley Bay for their hard work and acting upon their initiative to help raise money for those in need within their community.
If you work at a school or a hospice, or a group based in Whitley Bay that needs some money to make a difference to your organisation.. new books for school readers, a new toaster for a breakfast club,
a new heater for a local warm space this winter…please email your details and information about your requirements to marketing@rmsestateagents.co.uk
