House sales move faster despite buying frenzy

The HouseOwners Alliance estateagent4me database has shown that properties listed in January 2021 take an average of 60 days to sell this is faster than any other January for the past seven years. January 2021 in some cases shaved off 2.5 weeks on the time houses were taking to sell.
January 2021 was the fastest on record for the HOA. In 2021 sellers shaved two weeks off the average time to sell – making it 15% faster to sell last year than in the last seven years.
Paula Higgins, chief executive of HomeOwners Alliance, says:

“We regularly get asked the best time of the year to move and our data shows that January remains a great time. 2021 was a bonkers year for transactions and bucked previous home selling trends. Estate agents and conveyancers really rose to the challenge to meet the stamp duty deadline and deliver savings for home sellers. While 2021 was the year to sell fast whatever the month, history tells us January is still a great time to get moving.

Here at Rook Matthews Sayer, we are also seeing this high demand. We urgently need more properties in all areas to keep up with high buyer demand! The housing market for us is still very buoyant, if you’re thinking of selling your home or property, NOW is a great time. We are still experiencing a Sellers’ market, with high sales prices, quicker sales and a high number of buyers waiting.
There is still time to list your property with RMS and enjoy the Spring property rush!
