Are you a landlord? Can you help?
Â
We are looking for one landlord with a property in Gosforth, Kenton, Heaton, Jesmond or Fenham who could help us…
Â
Would you like:
✓Tenants who have been screened by the UK government?
✓Tenants supported by a team of volunteers?
✓To help a family displaced by global conflict?
✓Deposit paid and finances in place to cover rent for two years.
If so, it’s you we are looking for! We are working in conjunction with ‘Tyneside Welcomes’ Charity (CHARITY NO: 1183738).  ‘Tyneside Welcomes’ helps families displaced by conflict and set up a new life under the Community Sponsorship Scheme.
Tyneside welcomes’ branch in Gosforth has a support team set up, financials in place to cover rent for two years and a full plan to support a Ukrainian family for their first 2 years in the UK.
All they need now is a property.
We are reaching out to all our contacts to ask if you would consider renting your property out to a Ukrainian refugee family via Tyneside Welcomes charity.
The problem they have is when properties come on the market to rent they have gone before they can get arrangements in place. So even if you have a tenancy coming to the end within the next few months this could work perfectly to re let it straight away. Tyneside Welcomes can provide further information on timings etc.
Of Course there are benefits that come with this;
Benefits for the landlord include:
✓Initial support facilitated by Tyneside Welcomes’ support team meaning fewer calls to you as a landlord (if issues arise.)
✓Long term tenants (we would support them in your property for 2 years and they may well wish to stay on after this if agreeable to both sides.)
✓Good care will be taken of your property and very regular visits by Tyneside Welcomes support team will mean any potential problems are picked up and dealt with quickly.
✓The charity will cover deposits and have financials in place.
And most importantly… a warm glow for you, knowing you are helping to give a family who have been through horror and trauma an opportunity to live in safety,
to go to school and build fulfilling lives in our wonderful community.
Â
The war in Ukraine has caused thousands of innocent families to flee their homes, leaving most of their belongings behind in search for safety and security.
Many seek refuge in the UK and are in desperate need of somewhere to live. If we together can help just one family, that’s one family better off.
Please help us if you have a property available or coming available in the next few weeks/months.
